Sports Administration

Overview

The aim of this capacity building initiative is to assist in the continuous improvement of sports administration practices, primarily at club and NSO levels, in the region.

The project, a collaboration between the Australian Sports Commission, TTASPE and the OECS, engenders and fosters an increased sense of professionalism and efficiency in the ways clubs and associations operate, both internally and externally. More specifically, the focus on planning, effective communication and clearly identifying roles and responsibilities should enable clubs and associations to effectively manage affairs and better inform members.

Participants at a Sports Administration Workshop

The workshop itself is highly interactive and promotes experiential learning through practical tasks and interaction with other participants. It is designed to take the participants through a process involving the development of skills and expertise in a number of key learning areas and apply these in a practical context.

Participants in the workshops will be the stakeholders in sport. The major benefit in attracting a variety of participants to the workshop, ranging from coaches and teachers to athletes and executive association members, will be in raising the profile of sport in the islands and developing sport to the point where it can be used as a vehicle to assist community building.

For further information keep checking back this page as it will be updated and expanded in the coming weeks or feel free to contact TTASPE or you can email nfinlay@ttaspe.org.
