Who doesn't remember jumping rope as a child, either by yourself or with a group? What many people didn't know that while you were having fun you were also improving your strength and endurance, reducing anxiety and stress and giving your heart a good workout. Jumping rope is an easy way to establish lifelong good physical activity habits.

The fun that children experience while doing the various jumping skills helps to establish these habits and also helps to develop self esteem and team work. While children practice and perform new and different skills they are learning to set goals as well as exploring their creative side.

The fact that this project focuses on educating children and adults about a much more proactive way of dealing with the health problems of Trinidad and Tobago population should be its greatest benefit. Note that heart bypass surgery for someone with high cholesterol can cost up to TT$ 120,000.00 A good jump rope can cost about $15.00.
