Youth Friendly Healthy Spaces (YFHS) builds on a UNICEF funded pilot project - Nurturing Child Friendly Communities through Sport for Development and Healthy Living in Speyside, Tobago (2007-2009) and British Council’s International Inspiration (II) program - whose core vision is to transform 12 million children & young people of all abilities, in schools & communities across the world, particularly in developing countries.

YFHS focuses on making a valuable contribution towards the Government of Trinidad and Tobago’s (GOTT) national development plan by ensuring; that young people have access to youth friendly spaces, child friendly schools, adequate participation in developmentally appropriate physical activity and an array of youth leadership opportunities

To nurture and develop child friendly communities through sport and healthy life choices.
 
 
Mission

To provide access to sports based initiatives, entrepreneurial opportunities & external health services to youth within communities.’
 
Objectives
  • Develop community youths with physical, social, emotional and cognitive capacity building processes.
  • Use sport to enrich the lives of children & young people of all abilities through quality physical education & play.
  • To affect positive social change and healthy behavioural habits amongst community youths and by extension the wider community
  • To contribute to the holistic development of the community and its members.

Target Audience
