Kicking AIDS Out

Project Overview

Kicking AIDS Out! is an innovative, inclusive, high energy approach that links sports, physical activity and traditional movement games with HIV/AIDS prevention and education. Kicking AIDS Out! began as an African initiative directed towards children and young adults and has quickly developed into an ever growing international network. TTASPE houses the Kicking Aids Out! Caribbean office.

More than half of all new HIV infections occur in people under the age of 25. Girls are at greater risk of infection, and more likely to be infected at a younger age than boys. Infant and child death rates in the Caribbean have also risen sharply. Children and adolescents are most at risk in the HIV/AIDS crisis, yet also offer the greatest hope in defeating the epidemic.
