Our Mission
To support the development of practitioners and professionals in Sport, Physical Education and allied fields in their capacity to deliver quality experiences to their respective target populations.
Core Business
In an effort to fully address our stated mission the TTASPE directors have clearly outlined our core business, each of which will fall under the direction of one of our directors.
Policy and Research
- Policy
- Developing policy in relevant areas
- Initiating policy change in support of clearly articulated philosophy, beliefs and current research in relevant areas
- Research
- Writing and pursuance of research grants for relevant projects
- Data collection for TTASPE projects
- Promoting research for relevant projects through partnerships with academic institutions
- Advocacy
- Educating key stakeholders re the value of programs that promote quality sport and physical education for respective target populations
- Lobbying for progressive change in relevant areas
Professional Development
- Seminars and Conventions
- Providing opportunities (for members and other relevant stakeholders) for sharing and dissemination of current information in the field of sport and physical education by experts and practitioners
- Certification
- Developing certification/accreditation of courses through endorsements/partnerships with local, regional and international institutions
- Scholarships
- Sourcing of scholarships for members from partner organizations, institutions and agencies
- Support for TTASPE scholarship fund
Technical Development
- Teacher Education
- Training of teachers involved in delivery of physical education curriculum at different levels and dimensions of the educational system
- Coaching Education
- Training of coaches who work with various target populations (children, youth, persons with disabilities) in the delivery of TTASPE projects
- Volunteer Training
- Training of volunteers involved in support of TTASPE projects and events
- Sport Administration
- Training of personnel involved in the administration of sport and physical education at various levels (schools, clubs and NSO's)

- Develop strategies for sustaining and increasing membership levels
