GENERAL DESCRIPTION, AIM and BUDGET OF THE PROJECT
The School Anti-doping Awareness Project focuses on the awareness & presence of doping in sport whether in or out of competition. It strives for athletes to play true by not using performance enhancement drugs. Athletes, teachers, coaches, stakeholders and parents are educated about the serious issues involved with doping and methods of promoting the ideals of honest sport participation which engenders and promotes individual wellness principles.
TTASPE wishes to coordinate WADA’s mission and subsequently their vision:
‘Promote, coordinate and monitor on an international basis the fight against doping in sport in all its forms.’
Outline and Description of Individual Activities
The activities TTASPE has planned in implementing this project are as follows:

Essay Writing / Poetry competitions- All topics will be related to Anti-doping, doping in sport, WADA and other related topics. However participants will not be restricted to only essays, they can also compose poems. This allows adults understand what the children are thinking about with regards to anti-doping, if in support or disagreement. Essay writers will be allowed to show preference to a certain side of the argumentative essay. This competition will more likely target the form 4- 5 year group. However, if other year groups wish to participate it will be allowed. The best essays will be the displayed at the exhibition and the winner of the competitions within each school will receive a prize.

Poster Competition- Students will be asked to design a poster for the project. This caters for the creative aspect of a student athlete, developing their talents while learning about anti-doping. They will be allowed to use whatever color and style, however some words will be compulsory to put into their work [e.g. play true]. The best posters will be displayed at the exhibition. The winning poster however, will be used in our campaign as our official poster for the project.

School Visits- this is a way of monitoring and evaluating the progress of the program. The main purpose however of school visits is to emphasize on the importance of playing true in sport and anti-doping. It will educate athletes on the dangers and consequences and obtain their point of view on anti-doping. It will be an interactive session with presenters and possible professional athletes. The school visit dates and venues are included within the given packages, however dates are subject to change. If any changes are made within your district you will be immediately informed.

Exhibition- The exhibition will be the final event of the Anti-doping Awareness Project. This is where all the competition winners and their work will be displayed along with information about anti-doping and presence of professional athletes.
